10 College Students Receive Scholarships from AICPA and Accountemps
The American Institute of CPAs has announced the 10 winners of the 2014-2015AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship. The award and scholarship are presented each year to undergraduate and graduate-level accounting students who plan to pursue their CPA license. The recipients have demonstrated academic excellence, while showing exceptional leadership. Each recipient will receive a $2,500 award for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Jim Dolinar to Head AICPA Financial Reporting Executive Committee
Dolinar, 55, is managing partner of the Assurance Professional Practice, national office of Crowe Horwath LLP, Chicago, Ill. As chairman, he will head one of the Institute’s most important volunteer bodies. It serves as the AICPA’s official voice on financial reporting matters and develops industry-specific accounting guidance. The committee’s membership includes representation from business and industry, public practice and academia.

The American Institute of CPAs has opened the enrollment period for the 2014 Accounting Competition, with a total of $40,000 in awards at stake.
